Design Is Not Art.
Design Must Be Commercially Oriented And Practical.

Design Itself Has No Value At All. The Value Of Design Cannot Be Appreciated Until People Find It Useful And Recognize Its Importance.

However, Many Designs On The Network, Called Web Design, Have Already Transcended Obstacles Such As Ethnicity And Language, And Created Designs Based On A Variety Of Concepts. However, Because Its Definition Is Incomplete, The Question Of What The Web Design Is Based On, Whether It Is Based On Programs Or On Usability, Remains Extremely Ambiguous. Inconsistent Design Turns Out To Invite Confusion.

However, On The Other Hand, We Are, To Tell The Truth, Sick Of The Proposals And The Movement Of The So-called W3c And The Like About What Should Be The Criterion.

Should We Emphasize Freedom Or Design In Web Design?

Web Design Has Just Begun. There Is Infinite Room For Improvement. Consequently, Web Designers Should Make Every Effort To Spend Time On Experiment And Inspection As Well On Fostering A Cutting-edge Sense.

デザインとは芸術ではない。
デザインは商業的であり、かつ実用的でなければならない。
デザインはその存在そのものを価値とするのではなく、人の手によって初めてその価値を見出され、その存在を認められるものであると考える。

ところが、ウェブデザイン、と呼ばれるこれらネットワークに存在するデザインの多くは、民族、言語などの障害を越えて、すでに多種多様のコンセプトに基づいてデザインされている。しかも、その定義が未完成なために、プログラムに基づいているのか、ユーザビリティに基づいているのか、つまり何が基本なのか、を問うことが至極曖昧な状態に陥っている。筋のないデザインはかえってユーザーの混乱を招くだけだ。
しかしながら一方で、何を以てして基準とするか、などといういわゆるW3Cなどの提唱や運動にも正直言ってうんざりしている。

自由であるべきか、
デザインであるべきか、

ウェブデザインはまだ始まったばかり。議論の余地は幾らでも残されている。だから、ウェブデザイナーは実験と検証に時間を費やす労力と先鋭的な感覚を養う努力を惜しんではならないと考える。
